I mean I’ve reviewed two others and there are a bunch of others that I may not bother you with but this one comes suggested by a friend who uses it. She likes it. So let’s see if the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L holds up.
To give you the quick lowdown, the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L is a perfectly good choice. I have to say, though, that I had to go and check out something, anything about the Currens company because, I swear, some of this pet food dispensers around this price point look identical. It’s almost like some guys are just going over to China and getting these manufactured at the same plant. Having said all that, the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder holds up well and is definitely worth your consideration. However, I couldn’t even find a website for this company. Hmm. I don’t like it. It’s not an automatic disqualification but please know that the company doesn’t appear to have a website.

Main Features of the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L
As I say, I found nothing wrong with the current. It appears identical to the JOYTOOL Automatic Pet Feeder, a review I’ll be posting soon. And I ran into the same problem with JOYTOOL. Google it or them. See if any company comes up. I pride myself in doing my homework and neither JOYTOOL nor Currens seem to exist in website form.
Doesn’t mean that’s good or bad. It’s just something you should know. Both these products have tons of reviews on Amazon, mostly good. So keep that in mind, but I wish these importers or companies wouldn’t go into the witness protection program. Geesh! The good news is that Amazon will have your back if there’s an issue or problem, so I would strongly recommend you purchase it from Amazon.
So let’s go through some of the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L features.
- Just like the JOYTOOL, you have substantial control over portions starting with about a teaspoon and increasing teaspoons to 3 pounds.
- With the hopper topping out a three pounds, this feeder is a bit bigger than its competitors, which is one reason I think it sells so well and is an Amazon Top Choice. That’s about 12 cups.
- You can program up to four meals a day, which is right in line with the market.
- You can load it up with batteries (3 D batteries, not included) or you can use the USB attachment and plug it in. Always love this option. You can go with both to make sure you have back up power.
Best Features
The features on this little feeder are good and it does have a few that set it apart, at least a bit.
Perhaps most important is that the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L comes with a built-in infrared sensor, which others have as well and I find helpful. The way it works is that when the bowl fills to a certain amount, the machine automatically stops, preventing food from overflowing.
The machine also comes with a voice recorder and speaker.It can record your voice for 12 seconds of you calling your pet to come and get it. For me,
that’s not a must-have but I know more than a few cat owners who will not buy a pet feeder than doesn’t include this feature.
And, again, I love that it’s a dual-powered feeder. So plug the thing in and add batteries just in case the power goes out.
And, finally, it’s pretty much tamper-proof. The twist off lid makes it almost impossible for event smart cat to get the lid off and break into the food.
Who Should Buy the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L
If you’re in the market to keep the cat from waking you at 4:30 in the morning because he’s hungry. This little feeder will do the job in spades. No worries. If you’re got to Bali for two or three weeks (take me with you), then you need a large capacity feeder unless you’re having the cat sitter fill the feeder pretty regularly.
That’s not such a great example. The point I’m trying to make is that if you vacation a fair amount or travel, then move up to a larger feeder. You’ll be able to load more food in the hopper and program meals over a longer period. It just makes more sense.
But if you’re home and just want to get your cat into a more routine schedule or even put your cat on a diet, this is perfectly good option. Do not get this feeder if you’re planning on moving your cat over to wet food. Wet or even semi-moist food will not work in this dispenser.
Bottom Line
Outside of the fact that Currens is nowhere to be seen on the internet, this is 
a good choice. As I mentioned about, it’s list with the Amazon’s Choice badge, which is suppose to mean a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval kind of thing. The key with his feeder is to use small kibbles, somewhere around a centimeter or so, and only dry food.
Customer Reviews
The Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L doesn’t have as many reviews as some of its competitors but the one’s it does have a quite good. The dispenser has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars and at the I write this review. There are a total of 47 reviews.
Ninety-four percent of the reviews are five-star and four percent are four-star rating. That’s about as good as it gets.

Given that I don’t see a Currens website, I strongly recommend you buy the Currens Automatic Cat Feeder 3L at Amazon. It’s just gonna be your best way to go. Say what you will about Amazon, they are ferocious in looking out for their customers. They get it. So you’re buying the reliability of Amazon as a vendor.
I always recommend this but doubly so in this case.
