The Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser is a sturdy machine. I’ll get into the details here in a minute, but the Reader’s Digest version is that the dispenser is solid and gives you, the pet owner, lots of control over portions. Not always true with these types of dispensers. The versatility and toughness may make it the right choice for you.
So I’m gonna take you through some of the features that come loaded with the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser, then I’ll get into a little of what people who have purchased on Amazon have to say about the unit. And I’ll wrap things up with some other options, if that’s helpful.

Main Features of the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser
It’s terrific little dispenser from a good, reliable company. As I mentioned, it’s loaded with good features. Here’s a breakdown of the main ones.
Fully Assembled
No muss, no fuss dispenser. It comes assembled right out of the box. Love this.
No Brainer Programming
As easy to program as any dispenser I’ve ever come across. All the controls are right there at the top of the machine by the hopper. The SET button is right there with a circle around it, right next to the LCD read out.
On the other side of the SET button is the Record and Play buttons. Guess what those are for? Yup. You can record your voice calling your cat to a meal. It’s as easy as it would be to record greeting on your phone. The messages can be up to 10 seconds.
Strong Portion Control
Ten meal portion settings starting with 1/8 of a cup. This in the middle ranks of portion control and should give you plenty of handle on how much your pet eats per meal. You can schedule up to four meals per day.
Big Hopper
Lot’s of muscle here. The hopper is large, as big as you’re going to find in this price range. The hopper holds 18 cups. That means you pour enough kibbles in the hopper to last a week or more.
Plugged In
It comes with a power cord, so you’re not stuck with batteries.
Standout Features
There is a lot to like in the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser. There’s no question of that. But what makes this unit standout, if anything.
Well, I’ve fiddled with a fair amount of these over the years, so I say this will much appreciation: You won’t need the manual. Standout feature No. 1: Ease of use.
It’s so intuitive. So simple. I’ve looked over the manual and it’s fine, but you won’t need. I couldmake a Youtube video a few minutes long to teach you how to schedule it and get the voice recording done.
The hopper is huge and can hold a couple of weeks’ worth of food, depending on how much your cats eats each day. So if you travel, this is right in the pocket. And even if you don’t, the flexibility this gives you not to be filling the hopper all the time is wonderful. Standout feature No. 2, for sure.
I don’t need a voice recording to call my pet to grub, but I know people who totally need that this functionality. This unit not only packs that in, it’s super easy to record it. Standout feature No. 3.
And, finally, it’s an attractively designed feeder. It’s got some style to it. That combined with sturdy construction and durability and you’ve got a serious contender in the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser.
Who Should Buy Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser
I think most cat owners would do well by the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser, but it’s got some limitations that you should consider closely.
The first big one is that if you’re looking for a dispenser that can accommodate wet food or at least semi-moist, you’re looking at the wrong unit. This one is strictly dry food.
Moreover, the small kibbles are fine but it’s gonna choke on the bigger ones. This is true for jest about any of the small dispensers This is mostly applicable to dogs and your most cat food should be fine, but something to keep in mind.
I understand why they made it this way, but the bowl is plastic—not stainless steel. Could your cat develop chin acne over time. It’s possible. The tray is large and easy to clean but all plastic bowls and trays have that problem.
And, finally, if your cat is one of those persistent ones who likes to break into stuff, especially when it involves kibbles, this dispenser is probably not for you. The lid is pretty secure but it’s not impossible to break into it. I’m thinking that’s mostly an issue for medium or large dogs and you should be fine with your cat. But I also know how persistent some cats can be.
The Bottom Line
Like all dispensers, the Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser has limitations, to be sure. All in all, though, I think it’s a terrific dispenser. It ticks off a lot off my checklist. And if you travel or like to get away for weekends, the capacity of Arf Pets Automatic Food Dispenser is remarkable.
You’ll have no problem programming all the meals for a long weekend or even for a week’s vacation. Just plug it, pour in the dry food, set the timer, and your good to go. So my bottom line is a humble and hearty thumbs up with the provisos I’ve noted above.
