I have to say, the Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser comes with some pretty good feature right out of the box. So let’s run through them.

Six Six Six
First off, there’s a six in the name of the product. That’s a good sign. That means it can serve six feeding troughs. Fill them with the amount of food you want to feed your cat, program the unit and you’re good to go. (And so is your cat.) The advantage is that you have complete control over portions. You want to put your cat on a diet, just set the amount in each trough and you’re half way there.

1 Cup
Each feeding tray or container can hold up to one cup of cat food, which is good. That should take care of the average house cat.

3 Meals
You can program up to 3 meals a day. That’s fairly standard among food dispensers of this sort. I wish they had a few more meal settings, but overall this little feeder gives you a ton of control.

Sonic Alert
It doesn’t have a voice recorder built for you to call your pet to a meal. Instead, it has a sound alert that is suppose to signal your cat that it’s chow time. I’ve not seen this little innovation elsewhere. I like it but clearly your cat is going to have to adjust to the sound.

Dishwasher Safe
The food tray is totally dishwasher safe, so it’s easy to clean. The rest of the apparatus can just be wiped with a damp cloth.

Dimensions

All of the above are pretty good, I have to say. But, wait, there’s more.

I’d say one of the Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser’s top features is this . . . wait for it . . . it can dish out wet food. Yahoo! As you’ve probably noticed, there just aren’t that many options in the market of feeders that can safely accommodate wet food.

The other standout feature (and I’ve grown to truly appreciate this) is that it’s simple to program. In fact, the whole setup is simple and clean. You just select the portions and exact times for meals (up to three a day, remember), your cat hears the funky personal mealtime call and he’s served without having to beg for it. Yeah, you don’t need an advanced degree to set the timer on this thing.

As I’ve said 100 times, cats are remarkable animals. Even the most lock-tight cat feeder can be breached by clever (and hungry)  cats. That’s probably true for this unit, but I have to say they’ve got a pretty solid twist lid on the feeder. I don’t see your average cat getting into the food.

And, finally, yes there is manual override. So if you just need to feed your cat, press the manual button and it’ll advance the next meal right there and then. Who Should Get a Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser

So this is super straightforward. If you feed your cat wet food and she’s waking you up at 5  every morning because she’s ready to eat, the Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser is a dispenser you should definitely consider.

It’s solid and easy on the aggravation.

Now, having said that, let me qualify things a bit. It’s not a large capacity feeder. In fact, there is no hopper in models like these. You set the six compartments with the amount of food you want in each one and program it. This works just fine.

However, if you travel frequently over extended periods or vacation often, this may not be the right choice. In those cases, you may want to have a feeder with a hopper that can store 5 or 10 cups of kibble. Does that make sense? The Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser is  top seller on Amazon and I totally understand why. It’s just a well made and easy cat dispenser. It’s nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

So the key thing to consider is that it can only provide your cat three feedings a day. If you let your cat graze all day, which is the way cats really should eat, then this model won’t work. The lid will open up and provide food up to three times a day. Otherwise, you’re out of luck.

I have no problem recommending the Pawple Automatic Pet Feeder 6 Meal Food Dispenser. And it’s always a plus when you can actually go to a company’s website and find the customer service line. That a lone is a reason to rejoice.

(Actually, a number of companies making automatic cat feeders do an excellent job of customer service. It’s just that a number of them look so shady.)
