- It has a sizable hopper. I’ve reviewed a bunch of small cat feeders, so it’s nice to go old school. The Pet Feedster USA PF-10 CAT Pet Feedster has a hopper that can accommodate 10 pounds (20 cups!). Your kitty could go for a week on that one full hopper. Nice.
- You have substantial portion control that starts at a teaspoon (about 5 grams) and can go all the way to 6 cups. I mean, that’s crazy. The Pet Feedster USA PF-10 CAT Pet Feedster Automated Pet Feeder gives you tremendous flexibility in apportioning meal sizes.
- You can program the dispenser to dish from one meal a day up to five. Good.
- The hopper actually has a small “window.” What is the benefit of this? You can see how much food is left in the hopper. There are so many feeders on the market that give you no way of determining how much food is left. Drives me a little crazy. Pet Feedster gets it!
- I love the “flex-feeder” design that adjusts the feeder to the size of the kibble. It can handle without a problem kibbles ranging from 1/8 of 3 / 4 inch. This is a terrific advantage. No doubt about it. Many smaller units can’t accommodate such large kibble sizes.

Well, it’s back with a vengeance. This is well thought out large-capacity feeder. So let’s go through some of the standout features, in my humble opinion.
Totally Secure
The Pet Feedster USA PF-10 CAT Pet Feedster Automated Pet Feeder added a chute to make the dispenser almost impossible for a cat to break into and gorge himself on kibble. It’s design prevents your cat from pawing at the food and drawing more out of the chute. Cats are remarkable animals and they will find the weak spot. Pet Feedster has solved this problem. It used to offer the chute lid as an add-on but it now comes standard.
Flex feeder
It’s patented flex-feeder system substantially reduces the ability for food to get jammed by adjusting to the size of the pellet. This is a big advancement and worth paying more for in a feeder. Trust me.
AC/DC
It can be operated both on batteries (6 D batteries) and an AC adapter. I’ve always loved this and always amazed so many feeders don’t have this redundancy.
Control Panel
The control panel is backlit, so it’s easy to see and program day or night.
Large Capacity
I’ve already raved about the large hopper but it also has a large bowl that could easily accommodate two cats. In fact, the plastic bowl can easily be replaced with stainless steel one if your cat is allergic and gets chin acne.
Sturdy & Strong
This bad boy is large and sturdy. No cat is knocking this thing over.
Who Should Buy the Pet Feedster USA PF-10 Automated Pet Feeder For Cats
This is definitely a high-end feeder. If you have multiple cats or travel or vacation frequently, this is a go-to dispenser. The hopper is big enough and powerful enough that you can set it and forget it. Seriously.
Yes, it’ll get the job done on the simple stuff like feeding your cat at 5 a.m. so she’s not all over you, waking you up. Yes, you can program up to five 
meals a day. Yes, you can rest assured your cat isn’t going to break into the pet food.
Other feeders on the market do that as well. But if you want it all wrapped up in a state-of-the-art unit with some leading-edge refinements that will make your life easier, then the Pet Feedster PF-10 is definitely for you.
And, finally, if you’re looking to keep the feeder outside, this one will work. I wouldn’t recommend it, quite frankly. I don’t care what any manufacturer says. But it is rated indoor and outdoor.
The Bottom Line
It’s pretty hard no to love all the great benefits and features you get with the Pet Feedster USA PF-10 Automated Pet Feeder For Cats. It just brings so much to the table. You could definitely go down in terms of budget, but for the money, you’re going to win with this dispenser.
The only reason I wouldn’t recommend is that it’s too much machine for your small cat. But the Pet Feedster USA PF-10 Automated Pet Feeder for Cats gives you so much control, then even in that case you still come out ahead. And the company has excellent customer service.

The original Pet Feedster model had some problems and I think the reviews reflect some of that. The dispenser has a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars and at the time of this writing with more than 295 reviews.
Fifty percent of the reviews are five-star and 20% a very close with a four-star rating. I think this indicates that the quality is substantial and nothing to worry about.
